The way the vampires drink blood bags looks ripped from the game, and the effects of the red mist on vampire flesh look like certain levels of the Ocean Hotel.įans who were following the development of the now-in-limbo Bloodlines 2 will recognize several elements, too, such as the verticality animations (which were prominently featured in the last trailer), the vampiric vision-scan and the elaborate blood resonance system (this one carried over from V5, but the visuals are extremely similar). There's the classic "jump and glomp" feeding attack from Bloodlines 1, with very Santa Mónica-looking NPCs to match. Buffs can be stacked and are based around the Temperament (Phlegmatic, Choleric, Melancholic and Sanguine.) Blood is essential: regular blood allows vampires to regenerate and heal, while special humans with specific auras grant one of three buff benefits: extremely fast health regeneration, melee damage or a rapid cooldown of the vampire's two active skills. Players also have a second vision that spans an area of 100 meters and allows them to identify blood sources - mostly people and the rare blood bag or blood syringe. There's both a weapon rarity system and an artifact system - at Alpha, the magic artifact was an orange-hued pair of boots that allowed players to double jump. Players have three weapon slots - two for ranged weapons and one for melee - and a fourth slot for armor, but accessing the inventory to equip on weapons felt a bit slow given the frantic rhythm of the game. On the surface, Bloodhunt is another third-person, zone-restricted Battle Royale, but the devil is in the details. One downside: the faces were all presets, and the body types were all of the slender but muscled variety (even for NPCs), but this is still an Alpha release. For instance, the Nosferatu's Prowler controls bats that reveal the enemies in their radius (linked to Animalism), an active invisibility skill (linked to Obfuscation), and the passive Blood Trail, which shows them damaged enemies.Īt Alpha, each Archetype came with its own fashion aesthetics and distinct animations, all of which were polished and very easy on the eye. Each time you complete a quest, it will be marked as such on the in-game map. When you drop into Prague, using the ability of your heightened senses in the area you've been asked to visit will sometimes show the location for your quest objective with a small blue glowing object appearing. You can also see the quest objectives marked on the map as you load into a game, or as you check the map during a battle royale. They'll be listed, broken down into separate parts, with the quest objectives there in case you need a reminder. You can find any quests you take on from the main menu, just go over to the quest log tab to see each one. Most will take multiple games to complete, as you'll have to go back and forth between characters in Elysium and hitting the streets of Prague. There are currently 12 quests for you to complete in Bloodhunt.
